Dennis W. Bakke

Co-founder and Chancellor

Prior to co-founding Imagine Schools, Dennis was Co-Founder, President and CEO of the AES Corporation, a leading global power company with businesses in over 30 countries, $40 billion in assets, and revenue of more than $10 billion annually. Dennis also held positions in the U.S. federal government’s Office of Management and Budget and the Department of Health, Education and Welfare.

Dennis graduated with Honors from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. He received an MBA from Harvard University, an Honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters from Eastern University, and an Honorary Doctorate in Humanitarian Service from University of Puget Sound.

Bakke is the author of Joy at Work, a bestselling book detailing his organizational philosophy employed at AES and Imagine Schools.
