Officials from Broward County and the City of Weston joined Imagine Schools leaders at the National Blue Ribbon School celebration on Nov. 30, 2012.

News Release from the City of Weston published on Dec. 4, 2012.

Imagine Charter Weston received the unprecedented distinction of being honored as a National Blue Ribbon School, one of only 7 public and private schools in the State of Florida selected for this prestigious honor in 2012.

The Blue Ribbon School Award is considered the highest honor an American school can achieve. Established in 1982, the program cites only 300 schools per year out of 133,000 that are either academically superior or that demonstrate dramatic gains in student achievement to high levels. Imagine Charter Weston was also the top performing school in the state the previous year and has been an “A” rated school for years.

On November 30th, Imagine Charter celebrated their accomplishment with an all-school pep rally and performances from the school’s choir and BiLiterate class. The attendees enjoyed speeches from various dignitaries which included Mayor Daniel J. Stermer, Commissioner Thomas M. Kallman, the CEO and Co-Founders of Imagine Schools, Mr. & Mrs. Dennis Bakke, Former State Representative Ralph Arza and Broward County School Board Chair, Laurie Rich Levinson.

Principal Laham, credits the teachers, students and parents with the success that Imagine Charter Weston has enjoyed.
