CLEVELAND — A local community and hundreds of volunteers teamed up to build a playground in one day for the Imagine Cleveland Academy on the city’s east side Saturday.

More than 200 volunteers from Foresters Insurance, Imagine Cleveland Academy and KaBOOM!, along with hundreds more community members, began building the playground at 8:30 a.m. The playground was was completed and dedicated at 2:30 p.m. and designed from drawings created by the children at Design Day at the Academy in April.

The new playground will serve both Imagine Cleveland Academy and eventually more than 6,000 families.
Foresters Insurance and KaBOOM! have invested more than $7 million in building or planning more than 150 playgrounds in the U.S. and Canada since 2006.
